FullSizeRender (2)ABOUT ALICIA PHILIPP: Alicia Philipp is president of The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, one of the largest and fastest growing philanthropic service organizations in the country. The Community Foundation strengthens the 23-county metro Atlanta region by providing quality services to donors and innovative leadership on community issues. Philipp has led the Foundation’s grantmaking, fundraising and collaborative initiatives with donors, nonprofits and community leaders for the past 37 years. Under her leadership, The Community Foundation has grown from $7 million in assets in 1977 to more than $929 million in total assets today.

In 2013, The Community Foundation distributed more than $134 million representing 5,800 grants to approximately 2,100 nonprofits locally, nationally and internationally – making 2013 one of the largest years in the Foundation’s history for grantmaking. Named to Georgia Trend’s “100 Most Influential Georgians” list, Philipp has also been named one of the “100 Most Influential Atlantans” by the Atlanta Business Chronicle, one of 175 “Emory History Makers” by Emory University and has received the Georgia State University Distinguished Alumni Award. Her local, regional and national leadership responsibilities include previous service as a board member of the Council on Foundations, the Southeastern Council of Foundations, Independent Sector and the National Center on Family Philanthropy. Philipp received a bachelor’s degree from Emory University and a master’s in business administration from Georgia State University. 

FullSizeRender (1)ABOUT PHYLLIS SILVERSTEIN: Phyllis Silverstein is a Philanthropic Specialist for Wells Fargo Philanthropic Services. Phyllis helps individuals and multi-generational families achieve their charitable objectives through the creation and management of private foundations, charitable trusts and other charitable planning strategies. She also advises nonprofit organizations in the areas of annual development, planned giving/endowment, governance and management. Phyllis is responsible for involving all aspects of the Wells Fargo Private Bank in the awareness and importance of philanthropy for our clients and our community. Phyllis strives to create value for clients by helping them understand and maximize the impact their philanthropy has on current and future needs.

Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Phyllis was the Vice President of Planned Giving & Endowment for the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta for 8 years where she developed a comprehensive endowment program involving donors, professional advisors and community organizations. In total, Phyllis has over 28 years of professional fundraising experience and holds a BA from Florida Atlantic University and a Certificate in Financial Planning from the University of Georgia.

Phyllis is a Past President and Board member of the Georgia Planned Giving Council as well as a member of the National PPP (Partnership for Philanthropic Planning). She is an active volunteer for a variety of local organizations including a women’s empowerment foundation, middle school PTSA and lacrosse youth sports.

Born in Gainesville, Florida, and raised in New Orleans, Randy graduated from Brandeis University and received his J.D. from Emory Law School. He is the Founding Partner at Kessler & Solomiany. With over 25 years of experience in Domestic Relations and Family Law, Randy has represented celebrities, such as former Denver Broncos running back Travis Henry, New York Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards and NeNe Leakes of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. He has represented the spouses of celebrities, such as the wife of R&B singer Usher. He’s gone after high-profile athletes, performers, and entertainers for child support, when it proved necessary. ABOUT LARRY FREIMAN:
LarryA founding partner of an Atlanta-based law firm, MendenFreiman LLP, Larry Freiman is a member of the Atlanta Estate Planning Council, a past Director for the Atlanta Chapter of The Society of Financial Services Professionals and for the Estate Planning Council of North Georgia. He has lectured to various groups on tax, business and estate planning, and charitable giving. He received his J.D. / M.B.A. degree, with highest honors, from the University of Florida in 1993, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, magna cum laude, from the State University of New York at Albany in 1989. He has served as the Chief Tax Editor for the Florida Law Review and earned a number of academic achievement awards in his law and business endeavors, including the honorary Order of the Coif, Beta Gamma Sigma, and Matherly Scholarship. Larry was a member of the inaugural class of The Philanthropic Advisors Leadership Institute. Larry has four children, ranging from ages 11 to 16, with his youngest being identical twin boys. He is an avid fan of Florida Gator sports, having only discovered the excitement of college sports when attending graduate school at Florida. Larry used to have a mullet and played electric bass with several bands through college, with music ranging from the Dixie Dreggs to Ozzy Osbourne.

ABOUT GEORGIA O’BRIEN:
GeorgiaA Managing Director for Family Financial Management, LLC, a consulting firm that specializes in independent trust and estate advice for affluent families and individuals, Georgia O’Brien is a former Chief Financial Officer of Tyler Perry Studios, were she handled all financial affairs for the national celebrity. Georgia was a Vice President in Private Banking for 10 years, with Bank of America in Atlanta and earlier with First Union in the New York metropolitan area. She achieved her Certified Financial Planner designation in 1998. Georgia began her financial service career as a financial planner with Allmerica Financial in Tarrytown, NY. She is a member of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, the Estate Planning Council of Northern Georgia, and was also a founder of the Essex County Estate Planning Council in New Jersey. Georgia is an active member of East Cobb Business Association. She earned her Bachelor Degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. An avid volunteer, Georgia dedicates her time to serve as a board member of Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Marietta. She lives in East Cobb with her husband and two sons and cares for her elderly father. She enjoys playing tennis and golf.
